Precautions for wire rope slings
Steps and methods
When using wire ropes, devices and measures should be taken to prevent the wire ropes and spreaders from rotating. It is strictly forbidden to overload the wire rope during use and should not be subject to impact. When bundling or lifting required objects, be careful not to make the wire rope directly contact with the sharp edges of the object, and place sacks on the contact points. Pads are used to prevent the sharp corners of objects from damaging the wire rope and causing equipment and personal accidents.
If a large amount of oil is found to squeeze out between the seams of the steel wire rope during work, this is a precursor to the breakage of the steel wire rope, and the hoisting should be stopped immediately to find out the cause. When storing the wire rope, clean the dirt on the wire rope according to the above method and lubricate it, then coil it and store it in a dry place. Place wooden boards or sleepers under the wire rope and check it regularly.
When using wire rope clamps to fasten, you should try to use horse-riding clamps. At the same time, the inner distance of the 'U' shaped bolts should be consistent with the diameter of the wire rope. Large clamps are not allowed to clamp thin ropes. The bolts must be tightened. When using wire ropes, Thermal insulation measures must be used because the strength of steel wire ropes will be greatly reduced when exposed to high temperatures.
The connection between the wire rope end and the lifting drum, the lifting wire rope end itself or the connection with the hook, should be fixed in a pattern, and a rope head with a length of not less than 2.5 times the diameter of the wire rope should be left. The wire ropes on the drum should be arranged neatly in order. The strength of the steel wire rope must be checked frequently during use. Generally, a comprehensive inspection or strength test must be conducted at least every six months.
When the hook is at the lowest point of the working position, the number of windings of the wire rope on the drum must be no less than 2 turns in addition to the number of turns to fix the rope tail. When using other methods to lengthen the wire rope, it must be ensured that the joint strength is not less than 90% of the breaking tension of the wire rope. The steel wire rope used for lifting machinery should comply with the GBll02-74 'Round Strand Steel Wire Rope' standard and must have a product inspection certificate.
Precautions
Overload use is strictly prohibited.
Throwing of slings is prohibited.
The components on the sling assembly shall be inspected regularly according to the requirements of the assembly.
Unmarked slings shall not be used without confirmation.
Do not pull from under the weight or allow the weight to roll on the sling.
Hammering may not be used to correct a twisted spreader.
There must be signs such as rated lifting capacity, production number, manufacturing date, manufacturer name, etc. that are not easy to wear in obvious places on the product.
The user should prepare safe operating procedures and maintenance systems based on the instructions and the characteristics of the use environment.
Slings purchased abroad must be products produced and inspected by professional manufacturers in accordance with national standards and must have certificates and maintenance instructions.
